Upon my senior year at East Bank High
School I was presented one of the most wonderful gifts that a person can receive- a signed
copy of my heritage,"2,597 Keeney Relatives" by one of my favorite teachers,
Roscoe C. Keeney, Jr.- At the time I did not truly appreciate the persistance,
determination, and effort required to produce such a work until I began to work on my
wife's family tree. The book has followed my travels since 1-4-79 and been a constant
companion and source of inspiration to the future and a link to the past. Many thanks to
Roscoe for his tireless devotion and for the wonderful website- it is truly amazing to see
how far this family has grown throughout the U.S. and the world. |

Hi, I am descendant of Michael KEENEY
SR.m. Margaret S. He is my 3rd g-grandfather.I would love to contribute to your site, tho
I am starting from scratch with piece work on my family so I do not have very much at this
time to say. Just thought I would sign your guestbook. I have so much to learn from your
site & I would appreciate it if someone could fill me in on the procedures of writing
to you by e-mail for I haven't recieved a response. Please if there a newsletter for
Michael KEENEY Sr. I would like to be place on it. I know you have your hands full for its
quite a website with so many people involved. Just need to know the right contacts.
Does anyone know if the book "The Revernd Jonathan A. KEENEY & his descendants by
Patricia Foulke Kaufman is still available? She was selling it back in 1999. If so Is this
part of my family????

My Father told me a story that he
heard when he was about 30. He is now 81. He told me about seeing an old gentelmen at a
church in Klamothfalls who said he knew Andrew Jackson Keeney. "'BlackJack' had 5
sons. They had taken a wagon full of kids to Cresent Lake fishin'. It was Huckleberry
season. Theyd' pitched camp near some berry bushes and the horses were spooked because
they smelled bear. Watching the bear eat berries the boys asked Black Jack "What are
we going to do about the bear? Leave?" He replyed "I can run him off with a
buggy whip!" the boys said "No you can't!" So Black Jack took the buggy
whip and flicked it at the bears nose and drove him off." The old gentleman told my
dad "I knew your grand-dad and he was the bravest man alive." |

He may write you back. He wrote a book on us descenants from Andrew Jackson Keeney. Ralph
is past 80 but still doing well. My mother lost the phone # or I'd enclude it. He and his
wife live a simple life, they don't own a car so I doubt they'l have a computer.

Erika L. Myers-Clement, who told me abt. your site. My husband's grandparents, on his
father's side, are Wm. Wherter and Bessie Mae (Seid) Yongue. I don't know very much abt.

Keeney, Jr of Cedar Grove, WV I know I am a descendant of Stires Jade Keeney
(1813-1876)and Amelia Gatewood Keeney (1813-1860). My father was John Edward Keeney
(1919-1999). I've always been proud of the Keeney name and of those who carried it.

Maryland is where I come from. My dad John H. Keeney was born and raise in Johnsville,
Frederick County, Maryland 20 minutes North East of Frederick, MD. His father (my
Grandfather) was the late George Washington Keeney, Sr. The site I have posted is the

got a listing of all the keeneys from pa in the civil war.26 names were listed.Keeneys
from southern states fought against there namesakes to the north.I was born in buffalo in
1944.My aunt millie went to utah many years ago and got a family tree going.I am decended

Still love this website. My beloved
maternal grandfather was DENVER KEENEY. My grandparents were GEORGE HUMPHREY KEENEY and
MARY SHAFER KEENEY. Their children were Denver (my grandfather), Florence, Mabel, Burke,
